The piano at St Botolph’s has been in constant use for many years. Every Wednesday, we welcome students from London’s music colleges to give free lunchtime concerts to the community (both residents and workers); every week a range of music groups use the piano for their rehearsals, and it is an integral element of our regular worship.
Sadly the current piano is now beyond repair. It cannot stay in tune during our recitals, its action requires total refurbishment, the strings need replacing and it is no longer about able to be moved.
The PCC has decided to replace the current instrument with a brand new seven-foot Schimmel K219T. A professional-standard instrument that will serve the church for a century and be an excellent asset to the community.
The total cost of the piano is £35,000.
We have made a great start at fund raising through donations and a grant from the Friends of City Churches, and we are now looking to raise as much money as possible to secure the piano in early 2018.
Can you help?
If you are an organisation, we are offering four tiers of sponsorship, which we would be happy to discuss in more detail with you in writing or in person.
Thank you so much and we look forward to hearing from you.
